Crisis in Haiti

Please pray for Haiti. I am sure most of you have seen the news reports comming out over the last few days. It is shocking and overwhelming. CHGlobal does do work in Haiti. Right now news coming out of country is very slow. There is no electricity or phone service in most areas near the capitol.

CHGLobal has put out the following letter:

Dear friends,

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere has suffered a powerful 7.0 earthquake which has paralyzed the entire country. Port-au-Prince is in ruins. Millions of people have been displaced; homes and buildings are damaged beyond repair. The current estimate is over 200,000 deaths from the quake. We are all saddened and concerned with this situation, and turn to God for direction and leadership

CH Global continues to make inquires as to the safety of all persons, churches, orphanages and children we have been serving. CH Global has 30 children currently enrolled in a child sponsorship/school program with further development to begin in April 2010. We will be working with United Brethren Church In Christ and local churches who are “on the ground” in Haiti to reach those who are suffering.

During this desperate time, I would ask you to consider sponsoring a child from Haiti through our child sponsorship program.
