We have been looking this past week at God’s Kingdom and our place in bringing it to Earth. Looking at the prophesies of Zechariah chapter 8. It may seem impossible to us that the world can return to a safe place where the vulnerable are cared for (see Kingdom part 1) but nothing is impossible for God (see Kingdom pt 2). Once we know what God wants for the world and we listen to His prompting of the ways He wants to use us to bring it about, there are amazing results.
Zechariah 8:20-23 (NIV) 20 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, 21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, 'Let us go at once to entreat the LORD and seek the LORD Almighty. I myself am going.' 22 And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the LORD Almighty and to entreat him." 23 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.'" Once we catch the vision of what God is doing and align ourselves with His purposes, people will start to notice that we are different. Wouldn’t it be great if people saw us working with the individuals we serve and were prompted to say: “What is different about you?” “Why are you so loving, joyful, peaceful…etc.?” Wouldn’t it be great if people thought we must be Christians by our service and demeanor before even knowing the name of our organization? When we act as citizens of God’s Kingdom we will reflect the King. As Francis of Assisi is attributed with saying:
“Preach the gospel continually, use words if necessary”.
When people meet us do they see us or our king?
Do we live in a way that gives Him glory and inspires people to follow Him?
